Latin American literature has always been close to my heart and in the spirit of sharing, I thought I would bring to you all some of my favourite poets and authors from the Continent! I hope for even those who are not Spanish speakers, you find a few recommendations that spark linguistic joy!

Sor Juana Inez de la Cruz was a 17th-century poet, nun and self-taught scholar from Mexico and her poetry boasts some of the most poignant and beautiful instances of imagery that I have ever read. Bursting to the brim with idiom, wit, and irony, she is a pleasure to read both in Spanish and English.

One of my personal favourites, the Argentine Jorges Luis Borges and his plet
