We are a British startup with a global soul. Founded by Olive Halsall, we believe foreign languages are the cornerstone of true human connection. Grammar drills and vocabulary lists have no place at Olea. Our mission is to make languages funny, accessible and creative.

Our card game, Private Joke, was brought to life in June 2023 thanks to a tremendously successful crowdfunding campaign. In 20 days we raised 4.5k GBP from 130 backers. Just 6 months later, we released another edition - Girls Night In. 

 

We also organise ad hoc dinner parties in various cities around the world; for 8 strangers, urban dwellers come together for one evening to create language and form unique and meaningful bonds with strangers.
